The Chicago White Sox has entered into the world of baseball in 1900 and after that, there was no looking back. During its initial years, the team was referred as Chicago White Stockings. But this was soon shortened to Chicago White Sox by the Cubs. The Chicago White Sox had played their first match on April 24, 1901 against Cleveland and won by 8-2. Success followed them in the year 1906, when their fans started referring them as "Hitless Wonders" for their paltry batting average of .230. This team had won 1906 and 1917 World series and made their city proud. After the war-shortened season of 1918, team reverted back in the year 1919 to win the pennant and entered the World Series heavily favored to defeat the Cincinnati Reds in a best-of-9. This team has set a unbreakable record of 116 wins in one year. Apart from this, the team established their home stadium, U.S. Cellular Field in 1991, which was originally called New Comiskey Park.
